our garden

With planning for a baby comes eating better. You have to make sure what you eat is good for both of you. That is why we are working on our first garden.  Not really sure what we are doing yet but we have some sprouts already and couldn’t be prouder.  If anyone knows any safe ways to keep bugs away or tips for getting these bad boys to grow big and strong please leave a comment.

  2. Eating better is hard, especially with a new little one. I think it is good you are doing a garden. It will give you the opertunity to have fresh fruit/vegtables that would otherwise be expensive or a pain to get at the store. Fresh produce is so hard to keep fresh when you get it from the store becuse it is already a few days old, and you have to go shopping every few days to keep a 'fresh' stock at home. I think the garden you are doing is a wonderful idea. When I had my daughter I realized how much easier it was to just grab processed food or cheaper options at the store and I did not eat as well as I could have.
Good luck with your garden, I hope it helps you in your eating and quest for your family.
Don't forget you could make your own baby food out of your own fresh produce! I do not know personally how to can, but you could always puree and then can it in the smallest canning jars, that way you would be able to get use our of excees that may other wise spoil before you eat it. and it will help with $$ when the baby gets ready for baby food.
    Good luck with everything.

  4. Go to www.thevegetablegarden.info/planting-schedules . It lets you enter your zip code and it tells you what planting zone your in and tells you whats best to plant, when and how long it takes for it to grow. Very helpful. My # 1 tip is be patient with your plants and dont get discouraged, many things can go wrong (weather, bugs, animals) just be patient. Good luck to you .
