odd baby names, how odd is too odd

Odd baby names, they are all over. People wanting their kids to stand out from the crowd.  My husband’s name is Leif so I understand how hard it is when you have to keep telling everyone under the sun that its pronounced LaAAf .  I love his name and its just frustrating  knowing someone for some time and they still can’t get his name right, then you start thinking they have learning or hearing problems because you have pronounced it for them over and over again. We are not going to do that to our kids but we don’t want too normal of names. Its just as hard being one of the hundreds of jessicas and having to use your first and last name or middle names. How do you find the balance between having your kid be different and not wanting them to get made fun of their whole life? I think we want to do nerdy names (from books, movies, songs or video games) but we are not sure. we both want boys but we only cant think of really good girl names. Any ideas?

  4. I LOVE Lucas Sky! That is pretty awsome. Just please no girls named Peach. lol. Names are very tricky. What I have found is when it comes to boy names there are not that many. It seems like you know a million of them or it is an extreamly odd name that you don't want them to get picked on.
I would just be always worried about who will it seem like I am nameing them after.
