A helping hand

So I was baffled tonight when someone asked me if my mom was going to stay with us when the baby comes. All I could think of was why. We chose to have a baby not my mom. So I told them no and they asked if leifs mom was going to stay with us then. I dont know why I find this strange.  I could understand some people finding it comforting to have the extra help but they can't stay forever.  Why would you want to get use to having an extra hand when you wont always have them with you. I think that a couple should enjoy the first few weeks with the baby. Its the start of your family why would you want someone telling you how to do things when you can just figure it out together.

I finally did it!

At 27 weeks I finally broke down and bought some maternity pants.  They are so nice. They fit like normal pants but I dont have to struggle with the button and zipper any more. All my pants still " fit", but they were either uncomfortable or the button was crying for help. Now my baby belly is comfy and happy.

New year

This year is going to be a very stressful year. We are going to have a baby and that changes everything.  We wont be able to work as much. We wont be able to do as much and we wont be able to afford as much. So with full anticipation of a year with so much mystery behind it we are going to remember all of the positive things. Last night was the first and we already have a positive thing to remember. We are going to write down all of the good things that happen this year and after we make it through the year we will read them all and realize what a great year it was. So on our first slip of paper it says "buckeyes beat bama". We already know we have a lot of exciting things coming in April so this jar should get really full.

Scarlett takes great pictures

We kept trying to get a good picture on Christmas but I settled for one were Scarlett looks the best. Her dad kept giving these crazy smiles so I gave up on finding a good picture of all three of us. This picture shows my belly the best so it wins. She is getting so big in there and we can't wait to meet her in April.

I hope everyone has a great day with friends and family.  Buckeye has already gotten his gift and it might be to big for him.

Talk about practice

So in preparation for the baby buckeye decided to give us a sample of things you have to deal with once you have children.  So we came home from basketball yesterday and buckeye is normal. We set our stuff down and loved him. As I go to sit on the couch I see a coke can or what was a coke can in tiny little pieces all over the couch. The can was full of hamburger grease before now all that was left was about half of the can distributed on a cushion and a giant grease stain. We called the vet, they said just to monitor him and call if he act weird.  So with one afternoon we had to wash the cushion,  clean up vomit (with can in it) and check to make sure he didn't cut himself with the can going in and coming out. Talk about a day of worrying.  Im sure this is small compared to what little Scarlett is going to put us through but it is a wake up call when it comes to the messes to expect from a baby and dog.

Finally

Leif took a good picture.  I dont know how he did it. He said it was because there is now a belly to take a picture of so it helped him out. Almost six months along and we can't wait to meet baby Scarlett.
